I’m delighted to announce that the we have finally got a swimming session for this year organised. The sessions are going to take place every Friday at 7:45-8:30 starting next week Friday the 4th of October and running all winter. The total cost will be 25 euro for the month per person. This includes the cost of the pool and the coaching.
On the first night if everyone could arrive at 7:30 to get ready. We want to get introductions and a briefing out of the way without losing swimming time. We ask beginners to bring a swimming hat and a pair of goggles
This year there will be two coaches. The head coach will be Liam Butler who is a qualified swim Ireland coach who has raced every distance in triathlon. I will be acting as Liam’s
Over the last two weeks Myself, and Tommy Byrnes have put a lot of work into organising this swimming session between advertising, taking names and conversing on a regular basis with the pool management trying to get everyone the best possible deal. The committee (Nora and the two Keith’s) were top class also, calling a meeting when
needed for us to share our proposals for all the various winter training sessions. Liam Butler has also volunteered his swim coaching expertise every Friday free of charge which is very decent of him. Dermot Radford has also put in fantastic work planning a top class spinning and core session (details of which will be posted soon).
I would like to thank all of you for your efforts which I think is reflected in the large numbers of people that have signed up this year. We have 35 people that have registered interest this year from beginners’ right up to advanced seasoned swimmers. It is exciting times for the club.
If anyone else is interested in joining the session feel free to contact Brian on 0876133031
