Nora Cunningham improved her time by the biggest margin, 1.52, and gained the maximum of 10 points. Nora was followed by Brian Canny with 1.45, Matt Crowe with 1.10 and Sean Dillon with 0.45. This means that Sean sits on top of the table and puts himself in a position of being a strong favourite for the trophy. Nora Cunningham sits 6 points behind in second place while Rob Walsh, Mary Ryan and Simon Ryan are still in contention. Considering it is the best three time trial results and best three road race results that count in the final tally, realistically anybody within the top 10 have a chance of winning but those further down need other results to go their way.
Stage 6 will take place on Wednesday 01 August with sign on taking place in Bansha at 7.15pm. The first Cat 4 riders will be off at 7.30pm and will take to the Bansha, Cahir route that was used for Stage 2 of the league.
