The Cat 3s were the first to take to the line and the majority of them were still together at the halfway point. Similarly for the Cat 2s, they had reduced the handicap by the halfway point and the majority of the group was still together. The Cat 1s split early with a front group forming with the speed been driven by the stronger riders. It was ultimately the hill into Kilfeacle that split things up and small groups were all over the road. First across the line on the night was Joseph Murphy of Galtee Wheelers followed by David Williams of Clonmel CC and third was Danny Bresnan of Iverk Carrick Wheelers.
There has been a bit of a shake up in the overall league table. Kevin Bergin's lead has been clawed back after sitting out the stage. Noel Considine, in second place, did not collect any points but Brian Canny and Paul Lafford both managed to pick up points and close the gap on the top of the table.
Stage 5 is the third time trial and with a number of riders improving their best time on Stage 2, it will be interesting to see who can improve further and gain more points. As per usual, sign on will be from 6.45pm to 7.10pm in Oola village.
We hope to see everybody there on another good night for time trialling. Email the club on email@example.com or send us a message through our Facebook if you have any questions.
